ALL DOLLED UP W/ The Nutcracker collection by M.A.C Cosmetics

Last saturday M.A.C Cosmetics took it to the next level with their new Holiday collection in theme of the Nutcracker. It was a full house in the M.A.C Cosmetics store in Brussels and I could really feel the Christmas vibe. The sight of these beautiful packaged products and bright colors were amazing. What makes this collection so special is that there are different kits available like for example the eye shadow palette I chose, a handy brush kit or the perfect shades of festive lipsticks. The ideal Christmas gift if you ask me! I had an amazing time with the wonderful Emma Gelaude meeting new people and getting our faces dolled up with the new collection! What’s your favourite product? Check out the candy coated gift guide here.

These are my favorite items : The nutcracker Eye shadow palette called ‘sweet smokey eye compac‘ in bronze colors because I think it matches best with my skin tone and it’s ideal for my everyday make-up look. Next in line is the highlighter because I love to highlight all the good things in life, including my cheekbones.

I’ve noticed that I’m wearing black most of  the time and I want to change that. But before I’m going all crazy colors on you guys, here’s my full black VIP look with a finishing touch by komono. Find the Stella Metal Sunglasses here and the  winston royale watch here. Every girl likes to dress up once in a while and I’m no exception. At first I thought overknee boots were only for people with long legs but with these babies I feel more confident and sexy than ever. When I’m in these boots and wearing a pair of sunglasses my attitude immediately changes but not in the pretentious way. Still need to stay down to earth but a little confidence never hurt nobody. What do you guys think?

So my hair is short now. Can’t remember the days it was long, you get used to it so fast! I’ve been blogging all day and got some great looks for you guys during these holi-study-days. This is one of my personal favorites because you can never go wrong with an all black-white sneaker look! I remember thinking a few weeks ago ‘damn I can’t afford this sweater but I really need it’ so I found a way (read : didn’t eat for a week. No that didn’t happen but no caviar or champagne for me is what I’m saying). Now it’s my go to sweater whenever I feel like dressing comfy and cool. Would you’ve guessed it’s a Zara piece?
Lately I’m wearing less statement necklaces and more ear cuffs! Although they’re not easy to find for me because of my small ears, my collection is already quite extensive.

The first thing I always do before applying make-up is put on a good layer of day cream. I used the AVENE Cleanance Hydraperfect for dry winter skin. When you don’t have a perfect skin (and who has?)  you can use the DIOR Dream skin for covering the red spots. It feels really soft and has a powdery structure. For more color and cover I applied the MAC studio fix fluid NC30. I’ve been using it for years and still am a very satisfied customer!

To make sure your face doesn’t shine after a few hours I use the  MAC Studio Fix NC25. The color is lighter then the foundation but you don’t want to look orange now do you?  To finish the face I add a little blush. I used  MAC medium deep  combined with the CHANEL blush. Don’t exaggerate though, it still has to look natural.

We all want to have brows like Cara Delvigne and with a little help we can! I always use the MAC spiked pencil. No powders or gels needed. Sometimes I do spray a little hairspray on my eyebrow brush and comb my brows with it for longer hold.
When you want your eyeshadow to last all day (and night) you definitely need to put on a basis underneath. I used the MAC pro longwear paint pot/painterly. Then I applied the eyeshadows – in the corner of her eye MAC all that glitter / middle MAC haux / end and underneath MAC corduroy . Make sure you blend them out smoothly.  No eyeliner needed in this look. Finish it off with MAC zoom fast black lash mascara and you’re done!

Not quite  yet… The eyes are perfect for during the day and even at night but if you want a little extra you can always put on a lipstick for more color. I like to put on lipstick even for casual looks. You just have to find the right color and you’re good to go! If you go with matt I find the lipstick holds longer.
The color I’ve used for Yael is MAC matte ruby woo with the MAC cherry and MAC vino lipliners. Make sure your lipliner has a sharp enough point and for some people it is more easy to apply the lipstick with a pencil. What do you think?

Special thanks to this gorgeous lady and one of my close friends Yael Vermunt!
